Celtic Design
Celtic Design is very closely associated with Ireland. Irish monks during the 8th century used it to great effect in illuminated manuscripts like ‘The Book of Kells’. This form of Irish art was called insular art. The term derives from ‘insula’, the Latin term for “island”.
It has also been used to in silver and gold work dating back 1300 years. The combination of Celtic knotwork and Connemara marble celebrates two iconic products of Ireland
